Prior to going to Cambridge University Vet School I worked for many years in pharmaceutical research as a biochemist and pharmacokineticist, so I have a very good knowledge of how drugs behave and can predict how they will work in the patient. I was extremely lucky to then go back to University for a second stint in order to become a vet as my second chosen career.

Having been a specialist in the pharmaceutical business I have kept strictly to general practice as a vet, so I get to know the patients and clients very well which I enjoy. However my areas of special interest are anaesthesia, dentistry, dermatology and internal medicine. That does not mean I don't also get great satisfaction operating. So you would be right in thinking I enjoy mosts aspects of veterinary life here.
